And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.

Welcome to my personal blog, Straight From Jane’s Heart. I am pleased to share with you my thoughts, views, and true-to-life experiences about anything straight from my heart.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I am Janelyn Mendoza, 25 years old. I took up Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Major in English at Leyte Normal University, Tacloban City and graduated last May 2014 at the age of 20. While waiting for the Board Examination results, I applied for work and got hired in Assumption Academy, a Religious and Private School at Tanauan, Leyte. I started teaching in this institution June 2014 to March 2017. Fortunately, I passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) on my first take. I taught for 3 years in the private institution as a Junior High School Teacher teaching English from Grade 7 to 10. Last May 2017, I decided to work and serve the learners in the Public Schools. Luckily, I got hired in a barangay high school at Anahaway National High School, Palo, Leyte where I am currently working as a Senior High School Teacher for almost 3 years already.
I don’t have awards, trophies and even medals to share, but I am proud because I have a loving and supportive family and a husband who accepts me of who I am and what I am. Also, I am now capable of supporting some of the needs of my family and that’s for me, one of the greatest achievements.
With my experiences in teaching, I could say that this is really my destiny and the right path for me. Though this was not what I plan to be, I learned to love and be passionate about it.
For almost 6 years of teaching, I have developed that devotion of helping others through my profession. Seeing my students and knowing their stories, I have learned to appreciate this career. This maybe a difficult task for others, but this profession makes me feel my worth and makes me realize that I can make a change and that I can do anything because I always have a heart that keeps on telling me to try and not to give up.
I’m not perfect. I make mistakes. I sometimes fall and get lost in some parts of my ride, but I believe that there is always a chance for everyone who fails to be better.
I actually have a simple life. I spend most of the time at home – reading, listening to music (Taylor Swift’s songs), and watching movies (e.g. horror, science fiction, mystery and drama). I seldom go out because I never get used to it.
Whenever I get bored and sad, I have these two buddies to save my day.
Just by looking at them, I am relieve as if everything will be perfectly fine.
Basically, my blog would speak about my realizations about things that matters and how people and event affect my life. This would also contain the lessons I get from the things I would do.
So I hope you’ll get interested to subscribe and follow Straight From Jane’s Heart.
